Artist's Comments

A piece from my watercolor sketchbook. I referenced a taxidermy Kiwi at the Field Museum of Chicago for a rough sketch, then added mechanical components. Ink, Watercolor, Acrylic, and organic compounds on paper.

I love all the different textures created from the different media. The foot looks a little unfinished, but as a whole the piece does start to work together very well. I kinda like the little guy out in front, it gives me a scale that I wouldn't have imagined otherwise.

Where is the acrylic in this? Do you dilute it, or something? All of the colours look transparent.

Well, I'm going to favorite this one instead. :-) Just lovely, fresh work, my friend!

I use Golden fludi arcylics. For this piece I mixed them with matte medium, to a level of near-transparency. They are mainly along the back, on that textured carapace thing.

That is really really ubercool. :o I love the tank on it's back! :D I don't think I've seen anything close to this style on devart - just awesome.
